Its been a while since I've posted anything here....anyone notice? I didn't think so....Just wanted to pop in to say I'm happy how the election turned out, scared for the future of America, and STILL HATE WAL-MART! DO NOT SHOP THERE!!!

More good news from Iraq!

And since America was kind enough to liberate the Iraqis, who did the $3,000,0000,000 deal go to? Why, China, of course! Unreal.....

Thoughts on Veeps

Quite a bit has happened since I last shared my thoughts with no one....Obama and McCain have both picked their V.P. Obama's VP was my choice for president many months ago, so obviously I like that pick. The more I hear about/from Obama, the more I am happy to throw my support behind him. I wonder how the Democrats will blow this one?

As for McCain's choice, I think its pretty pathetic, honestly. He chose a woman, obviously to capitalize on disgrntled PUMA Hillary supporters, and he picked a woman who appeases the religious right. Need some proof? Read this article, and this article. If she's good enough for James Dobson, she's good enough to continue to ruin the country, as Dubya has done....

And for those on the right who debate what I say, I submit this. Don't listen to me. Listen to the guru who allowed your party to rule for 8 years, Karl Rove. Click here to read what he thought about Gov. Kaine, who he assumed Obama would pick for Veep. In the words of Turd Blossom, McCain made an "intensely political choice."

Two Excellent Reads

I stumbled upon these two articles....Both fairly short, and both very, very well written. The first deals with the false gay marriage scare the Religious Right is trying to manufacture. Some excellent points made in this article. The second deals with a former Neo-Con, who has changed his ways. He points out reasons Bush is the farthest thing from a Christian President. Couldn't agree more!

How very Chrisitan.....

This sure doesn't help the case for teaching creationism is public schools....Honestly, what is wrong with some people?!? If you must teach this version of events, why not go to a school that specializes in that way of thinking, where the parents all agree and support your position?!? (Although to be fair, I don't think anyone would support burning their children.)

Oil From Bug Poo?

I posted this yesterday on another site, but forgot to include it here. How will Gino ever read it?!? (He's the only one who may eventually look at this page.....)

I stumbled upon this story, and I sincerely hope it is not a fake....While it would not address the issue of carbon emissions, it would address the need for oil we currently have, as well as break our dependence on foreign nations that use oil as a bargaining chip. Perhaps this is not the final solutions, but it could be a way to bridge the gap until we find cleaner, renewable energy sources.

And for the record:

"The company claims that this “Oil 2.0” will not only be renewable but also carbon negative – meaning that the carbon it emits will be less than that sucked from the atmosphere by the raw materials from which it is made."

I still hope the story doesn't end up being a fake.....

Some Local (Ohio) News

John Widowfield, OH (R) is resigning from his post in the Ohio House of Representatives. Why? Seems he used campaign money to buy OSU tickets and sell them over the 'net for profit, pocketing the profits. Oops! And this the same guy who came dangerously close to becoming the new Clerk of Courts of Summit County, and actually had the audacity to say this at the time:

"I've got an anti-tax record and I offered voters that I would reduce the budget," Widowfield said Nov. 7. "If people want the alternative ... God bless them, this is America. The voters have spoken and they're going to get what they elected."

They going to get what they elected indeed!

Abstinence-only = Lies

This is either the result of stupid American kids, abstinence-only education (sponsored by the Bush administration!), or both. More than likely, its the latter. Either way, a recent study of Florida teens reports that they believe "drinking Mountain Dew or smoking marijuana will prevent pregnancy and that swallowing a capful of bleach will prevent HIV/AIDS." So I ask you, which is more dangerous...A teen strapping on a condom, or a teen chugging a capful of bleach?

Resolution 888 - Why Congress Ranks So Low

All you'll hear from Rebublicans is "Congress has a lower approval rating than the President, but no one ever talks about that." And the fact is, they're right. The reason for this approval rating, however, is vastly different. Congress was overhauled by the American people in 2006 becasue they were fet up with the situation in Iraq, as well as the domestic outlook. And as I'm sure you now know, Congress proved itself to be spineless. Hence, the approval rating. But it pains me that although the House makes no effort to end the war in Iraq, or solve the problem of universal heathcare, or debate how to handle the housing situation, they have time to pass crap like this. What a waste of time. And the real kicker? It's not even accurate. We are quickly becoming a theocracy, no different than Iran. We are all doomed!!!

When I saw this, I just had to post it here. Bush's approval rating is literlaly the lowest. Ever. In. American. History.

Basketballers and Bombs

Seriously, the last time I expressed my opinion to no one was October 14?!? Everyone must be going nuts, wondering what I've been thinking....Riiiiiiight....

If you expect me to go off about the presidential primaries, sorry. I'm fond of saying that as long as that lunatic Huckabee drops out, I'm good with any of the remaining 4 (Paul, McCain, Hillary, or Obama). Why do I dislike Huckabee so much? Find out here. And here.

On to other news....I'm sure you've heard of the US satellite tumbling to the earth? Russia has a theory that we're shooting it down as an excuse to test of missile defense system, and I'm inclined to believe them, especially when I read articles like this one.

By now you may be wondering why I have a picture of Charles Barkley on this post. Let me start off by saying that I very much enjoy Charles. I don't always agree with what he says. Lord knows he loves to dump on the Cavaliers, which is always painful, if not accurate. But he's a black man living in America who speaks his mind without apology, and it's so refreshing. Well the other day, he was on the Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer. This link provides a video and link for a full transcript, but check out the meat of the conversation below:

BARKLEY: Hey, I live in Arizona. I have got great respect for Senator McCain. Great respect. But I don’t like the way the Republicans are taking this country. Every time I hear the word “conservative,” it makes me sick to my stomach, because they’re really just fake Christians, as I call them. That’s all they are. But I just — I’m going to vote Democratic no matter what. [..]
BLITZER: All right. One quick point before I let you go. You used the phrase “fake Christians” for conservatives. Explain what you’re talking about.
BARKLEY: Well, I think they — they want to be judge and jury. Like, I’m for gay marriage. It’s none of my business if gay people want to get married. I’m pro-choice. And I think these Christians — first of all, they’re supposed to be — they’re not supposed to judge other people. But they’re the most hypocritical judge of people we have in this country. And it bugs the hell out of me. They act like their Christians. And they’re not forgiving at all.
BLITZER: So you’re going to get a lot of feedback on this one, Charles.
BARKLEY: They can’t do anything to me. I don’t work for them.

For the Doubters and Deniers....

For those of you who doubt that the Bush administration attempting to widen the gap between the haves and the have-nots, PLEASE read this article.

"The richest one percent of Americans earned a postwar record of 21.2 percent of all income in 2005, up from 19 percent a year earlier, reflecting a widening income disparity among different classes in the nation, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing new Internal Revenue Service data.

The data showed that the fortunes of the bottom 50 percent of Americans are worsening, with that group earning 12.8 percent of all income in 2005, down from 13.4 percent the year before, the paper said."

Bush Bashing and Other Right-Wing Thoughts....

First off, everyone expects my position to change on abortion not that I'm a father. Not gonna happen, folks! I think any human is against late term abortions....But if you can't understand why someone would go through with that, you can't understand why someone would go through with it, so stop judging others! And here's a little article semi-proving that to go back to making all abortions illegal will have dire consequences....

On to our wonderful president....History will prove him right, correct? That's what he said in 1993, as well....How did history judge you on that one, Dubya?!?

And if you need an example of Bush 43's hypocrisy, take some time to read this article. He literally has no problem killing Americans (as governor), but wants to save the lives of guilty Mexicans....Why is the MSM ignoring this?!?

And in the "Too-Good-To-Pass-Up" category, another Republican, this time a Senate hopeful, tried to solicit a cop in a public restroom for sex. Need I say more?!?

I'm back, baby!

I never realized having a child would cut down on my website activity so much...Those little poop machines are exhausting! A couple of things I wanted to touch on (not in a Larry Craig kind of way, either.)....

If you hear any of the lies Prez Bush is spreading about his most recent (and 4th total) veto, DON'T. Here are the fact....

Second, please explain to me why Republicans are happy to have this "person" represent them? Unless you don't think women should vote, either....

That's all I'm really going to mention today....But in case you were wondering: Yes, Rush Limbaugh is a lying sack of crap, and should be taken off Armed Forces Radio. Yes, Larry Craig is a homosexual and a criminal, and is a hypocrite to boot, assuming he refused to resign. And yes, Blackwater may become a huge, huge problem for the military operations in Iraq.

Embarrassing America one speech at a Time

Words cannot even describe....Speaking to one of the few countries that actually supports his actions, this drunken fool cannot help but screw up multiple times. I cannot wait until January 21, 2009.....

I Hope This Is Not True

But prepare for the worst, people. If we start hearing about how evil Iran is in the next week or two, remember you heard it here first. This is all part of their plan.

It will be heavy sustained assault on the airwaves, designed to knock public sentiment into a position from which a war can be maintained. Evidently they don’t think they’ll ever get majority support for this—they want something like 35-40 percent support, which in their book is 'plenty.'"

35-40% support is now plenty...Majority RULES! Side note, for those of you who honestly think we have a democracy in this country, read the definition of oligarchy.

Tearing the Repubs a New One...

In the following entry, I am going to do nothing but report facts, while at the same time blast the Republican Party. Don't think they deserve it? Well check out the this laundry list of arrests, corruptions, and such, and these are only from this year!

I want to start by attacking Tom Tancredo, who recently said it is "time the taxpayer gravy train left the New Orleans station." Followed by "The amount of money that has been wasted on these so-called ‘recovery’ efforts has been mind-boggling." The problem? Tancredo was using administration figures of $116,000,000,000 spent to rebuild the region, while in reality less than 30 percent has gone towards long-term rebuilding-and less than half of that has been spent, much less reached those most in need. Talk about compassion! It's not like this guy has a shot, but his ignorance deserved some attention.

Next, I'd like to spend some time on Bush's debacle that is Iraq. First off, the latest general to call out the incompetence of the administration? The British General in charge when we invaded in 2003. Second we've spent over $450,000,000,000 on Iraq, the 'surge' isn't working, and will be asking for $50,000,000,000 in addition to the $500,000,000,000 already budgeted. And Tancredo wanted to stop the gravy train to our own city! And he'll get it!

Gotta wake up, folks. Have to start caring about people in our own country before dictating how people in other countries live. Must stop this corruption.

Unrelated, but also Unbelievable

First off > "Poverty" rates fell this year. I use quotes because our government defines the poverty line as $20,444 for a family of four with two children. No misprint, folks. Frito, Jason, Johnny, imagine living off of $20K a year?!? So even with these insane standards, only 12.3% of our citizens live below that line. So only one out of every eight citizens of the richest nation in the world make an average of $9.83/hour, $4.91/hour if both parents are working. [figures assume a 40 hour work week]

The real kicker in the study? The number of un-insured Americans jumped from 15.3% to 15.8%. Not huge, but it represents about 2,000,000 additional citizens without health coverage. We're moving in the wrong direction.

Second > The U.S. is the most armed country in the world. Anyone shocked? Everyone feel nice and safe? Still lock your doors at night?!? Some fun facts:

• U.S. citizens own 270 million of the world's 875 million known firearms


• About 4.5 million of the 8 million new guns manufactured worldwide each year are purchased in the United States


• The United States has 90 guns for every 100 citizens


• Yemen had the second most heavily armed citizenry behind the United States, with 61 guns per 100 people

WOW! I wonder why we have violence issues in this country....Someone write me and say its our Constitutional right, I dare you!

I may be guilty, but please, PLEASE....

Don't call me GAY! Aren't 'Republican' and 'Homosexual' synonyms now? At any rate, here's what the 'news' is reporting about the incident, and here's the police report. I have absolutely no issue with gay people, and find it hilarious that the same bloc attempting to restrict the right of gays is the same party with so many closet homos. Let's break this down for a moment. I can almost accept the 'I'd-rather-just-plead-guilty-and-get-this-over-with' defense. Almost. But if I'm a (Republican) US Senator, I sure wouldn't just enter a plea and hope it goes away.
