Who's the more foolish?

The fool, or the fool who follows him?
-Obi Wan Kenobi

I (sadly) visit this site a few times a week, because I'm a fan of the expression "know your enemy." And I hate to even waste any one's time on it, but this article was just priceless. It proves several theories of mine....1) Right wing talking heads have zero memory. Were they screaming "Pork!" over Ted Stevens bridge to nowhere? 2) Right wing talkers will denounce polls, saying they aren't accurate and are irrelevant, unless it supports their claims. You can't have it both ways, folks. 3) Right wing talkers have very little compassion. The House and Senate pass a bill A) pulling our troops out of the Civil War in Iraq, and B) assisting Americans, and they're up in arms about it. Heaven forbid we help struggling AMERICAN farmers. I can't believe we'd want to help poor AMERICANS afford rising energy costs. And the left is un-American?!?

I tried to be very careful and only attack the talking heads, not all Republicans. I know you all don't feel this way, or support this lunatic. But let's work together to bring down this kind of hate speech. It only serves to divide us.

Don't Take This Lightly!

If any of you out there swing to the left, check out this story. Forget the Hillary part of the story...Of course Republicans hate anyone with the last name of Clinton. What this says to me is, the Republicans will be energized. They will try t o"upset" the Dems in '08. Let's not let this happen!

1 to 500 ratio.....

As this article explains, the wealthiest 300,000 Americans earned as much as the bottom 150,000,000 Americans. That means for that one of the richest earns as much as 500 of the poorest. In one calendar year. Does this seem off to anyone else? If you make it to the end of the article, check out this statement:
"The top 1 percent received 21.8 percent of all reported income in 2005, up significantly from 19.8 percent the year before and more than double their share of income in 1980. The peak was in 1928, when the top 1 percent reported 23.9 percent of all income."
That 1%, of which The Bush and Kerry family are both members, is the group that cries when their taxes go up, as they did during the Clinton surplus. Their whining and manipulation of politicians is the reason Social Security will soon be bankrupt and our kids will have to find a way to pay off China...

Say it ain't so..........

Are we really getting ready to invade Iran? Russia is telling the world that we're ready to....I can't believe Bush would be stupid enough to do this, especially with the American people and now even both houses of Congress rejecting his mess in Iraq. I know Bush likes to say," history will be the judge," but I don't think this judge will be very kind....Worst president ever? Probably....

On a lighter note, the Pope came out and cleared this up for everyone....I plead the 5th.

As Promised.....

I promised to link to this story yesterday, and here it is. Probably nothing illegal about this, but it still doesn't give me the warm fuzzies......

Nyet!

Russia seems to be geting out of hand again....If you haven't heard, up to 14 journalists who oppose Putin have mysteriously died in the past few years....And then I stumbled onto this story....Scary stuff going on over there....And I read a headline that NYPD was spying on it's citizens for over a year before the GOP convention came to town....And who were they spying on? "Potential Protesters...." I'll report back with more soon.....

Thoughts for the day.....

Obviously no one reads this site....And as you can see for yourself (no one), even fewer people post comments....That being said, what on freaking earth is the Pope talking about?!? This is at least the second time since he's been sworn in that he's yelled at us for not having more babies....Perhaps 6 billion isn't enough for him....Perhaps the estimated 10 billion people on earth by 2010 is not enough for him....If he continues to encourage the world to pro-create, I'd like to see him take some responsibility and tell us how to feed, clothe, and shelter all these kids we're supposed to be popping out!

On another topic, this guy disagrees with scientists, and he's a nut-job. Republicans disagree with scientists, and they're "exposing the hoax of global warming." Let's pull our heads out of our collective butts and use them for something besides watching American Idol.

Gonzo Part II

The firing of DA's for political reason was bad....Not illegal, and tough to prove, but bad. This story, on the other hand, could end up doing in old Al. Forcing the Prez to block warrants so Alberto wouldn't be investigated by the Department of Justice for authorizing illegally spying on Americans...What an administration we have in Washington!

Just to clarify....

I wanted to post a link to this video, so if I have to defend the fact that Vice Pres. Cheney....err, Scooter did indeed break the law, I could find it easily. Find out why Rush is wrong by clicking here!

Thank goodness!

I was all ready to ride my high horse and tell people to protest this, and in my research for articles, I found out the evil empire has dropped their plans. Good. Don't let this happen!

Will the corruption ever stop?

I'm sure we've all heard at least a little about this story.... I must admit, it didn't really sink for me what the big deal was. As El Rushbo would be quick to tell you, Clinton fired all 93 justices when he took office, and it's perfectly legal. However, I ran across this story, and I let out a sigh of relief that all was right in the world again. Bush is the most corrupt President in our history!

Credit were credit is due....

Assuming this story is correct, then Bush's troop surge is actually working. Why didn't it work 2 years ago when the troop numbers were larger than they are now? Perhaps a certain leader of the military that's gone now.....Just a thought! But at the risk of being overly opptimistic, maybe Bush finally did something right.....

The Tribe

Everyone aware of this? This is now the third year in row we've started the season with a great young pitcher on the DL, if memory serves. CC the past two, and now Cliff. Will it contribute to another horrible April?

The Movie '300'

So Gino yelled at me yesterday for not being excited about this movie. Am I alone on this?

Browns Talk

Anyone else semi-impressed with the Brown's moves this off-season? Jamal Lewis is old, but we signed his to a one year deal, and he'll want to prove himself for one last contract. I like the Steinbach signing as well....And Northcutt's finally gone. Do we take Adrian Peterson, or do we have a chance for Joe Thomas? Can we trade down? Thoughts?

Am I Crazy Here?

I know this country has a rent history of choosing sides or certain issues. I can even understand both sides of almost every "hot button" in America. But this one I can't wrap my mind around. I don't think any can argue that the average temperature has risen globally over the past decade or two. No doubt that it was preceded by a decade or two cooling. And no one is arguing that the world doesn't go through periods of "climate change." Does anyone remember this? Or maybe I should link to this instead. WOW! I just looked that up to be funny, and I'm truly shocked. The Conservative Wikipedia, design to correct the liberal bias of Wikipedia, has no page for the Ice Age and the first cross reference that comes up is for "Global Warming." I'm speechless.....

WOW. That Ice Age thing threw me for a loop, I forgot my original point....Which was, is it not possible that pollution is bad? Do we have spend so much time and money and energy to argue that point? Ever hear of a red herring?

A new era of blogging....

After way, way too much time, I spent 5 minutes on a google search to upgrade my blogging. I've wanted a forum where I can spew my nonsense and have you reply to it for all to see, and now I think I finally have it. Let the debate begin!
